Are you interested to increase your web traffic?

Perhaps you are an expert in an industry and you already have a website that informs your viewers about your niche? Don’t have web traffic? Let’s see how we can change and improve that! Many of us want the quick and easy strategy which almost always doesn’t work! Remember that If you want quality traffic, you need time, and you need to work on it slowly, but, consistently. Fast and easy isn't always the solution. Chances are these type of solutions won’t last long and you might do more harm than good. So be very careful! Don’t always go with fast and easy. It might be low-cost, but, you might end up unsatisfied.

Here are some tips that will help increase your web traffic!

  1. Start creating content.
  2. Promote through social media platforms that you can manage.
  3. Add SEO to your web pages.
  4. Consider Search Engine Marketing or PPC Paid Advertising

Start creating content

Ever since social media boomed, many Filipino individuals spend the majority of their free time on social media sites browsing Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and other social media platforms. Take notice that these people consume content by reading articles, watching videos, or sharing short messages. You need to start creating content on your website to provide content that many people consume on day-to-day.

Promote through social media platforms that you can manage.

If you are just starting a website most likely you don’t have much content available yet. Maybe you are just one person trying to make it work. That’s okay! But, you need to start on something, right? One of the easiest ways to promote your business is through social media. You don't need to use all available social media platforms. Instead, pick a specific tool that you are comfortable with, and stick with it! Targeting and managing the right audience properly is better than trying to get everybody’s attention all at once from several social media accounts. Focus on specific platforms one at a time and build/expand from there.

Add SEO to web pages

It’s not just about generating good content. It is also about implementing a good SEO strategy. Aside from making sure that you provide informational and relevant content to your audience. You also need to make sure that you make Google or other search engines recognize your website. You see, no matter how good your content is, if nobody can find you in search engines, it won’t mean anything to them and to you. Do not overdo it though. Doing it excessively will only hurt your page rankings. Things to avoid so you don’t overdo your SEO:

  1. Don’t spam keywords
  2. Avoid irrelevant topics
  3. Avoid doing things only for the sake of SEO

#3 for me is very important. It doesn’t necessarily follow that if you apply SEO, you’ll already be on page one of Google. NO. It doesn’t work that way. Maybe you’ll be on top initially but in the long run, you won’t be able to sustain it if you’re only thinking about SEO and forgetting the value you bring to your customers. There are many things that you need to consider. Here's an example: Say you want to attract and engage people to read your content. You apply certain SEO strategies that you think is effective for page rank. On the first week, you ranked well for specific keywords. Great! However, you start noticing that you have a 90% Bounce Rate on your website coming from Organic Search. On the third week, you notice a drop in SERPs ranking. The reason? People are not finding any value in your content. They don’t interact with your website the moment they land on your landing page. Bottom line, they don’t read anything at all because you focused more on the technicalities of SEO and forgot about your content value. Instead of focusing on SEO, think of your user's interests. Use that to create value and engagement.

Consider Search Engine Marketing or PPC Paid Advertising

You can get a lot of traffic on paid advertisements. Of course, this internet marketing approach requires a budget. However, in my opinion, this type of online marketing will instantly boost your web traffic without doing so many activities and technicalities. Don’t lose hope if no one reads your content at first. It’s normal. Improve and learn from your experiences. What works for you? If you are consistent enough in creating valuable content, eventually people will take notice and read it.
